The Community Resource Center (CRC) was created out of the need for a place where children can stay with a social worker while they are waiting to be placed with a foster family.

  • The CRC provides a clean and safe space for social workers from approved agencies to take children who are in their care. These children are either entering the foster care system for the first time or are returning to the foster care system.

  • Previously the children stayed in their social worker's office for hours to days while awaiting placement with a foster family.

  • The CRC is used for sibling and family visits.

  • The CRC has child-friendly meals, games, toys, books, and a playground.

  • One of the reasons Anchor Hope is providing the CRC is to reduce the trauma children experience when being placed into foster care.
